Verizon has opened a 9,700 sq. ft. Destination Store at the Mall of America. Verizon’s main objective was to reengineer its retail strategy away from a sole focus on phones and devices and instead showcase its ‘smart accessories.’ Verizon established distinct Lifestyle Zones in the store, each dedicated to a different purpose. There’s a Get Fit area for fitness buffs, an Amplify It area for the music crowd, and a Have Fun zone for gamers. Other dedicated areas cover home monitoring and energy management, as well as zones geared to mobile business types and entrepreneurs. Verizon retained Sparks, Philadelphia, PA, (wwwsparksonline.com) to create the reimagined take on its brand. “The Destination Store lets consumers take new technology out for a test-drive in real-life scenarios,” said Sparks CEO Scott Tarte.
