Ball Park® brand has launched a new partnership with Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Pictures supporting the upcoming movie release of 42, the powerful story of legendary baseball player Jackie Robinson, who broke baseball’s color barrier in the late 1940s. While paying tribute to the life and achievements of Jackie Robinson, the partnership builds upon Ball Park brand’s rich heritage in baseball as consumers gear up for grilling season. The sponsorship program includes an integrated mix of brand marketing initiatives, including in-store activations, consumer promotions, and digital marketing/social media. The campaign includes the launch of a Facebook sweepstakes, as well as in-store activations at such retailers as Kroger and Safeway.
“Jackie Robinson was more than a legendary ball player and his legacy extends far beyond the playing field. We couldn’t be more proud to align our brand with 42 and celebrate the life of Robinson while also rewarding our fans,” said Timothy Smith, Vice President of Marketing, Ball Park brand. “Through these activations, we’re engaging with our fans both online and in-store and providing them with opportunities to win great prizes relevant to the film and fast-approaching grilling and baseball season.”
Consumers are encouraged to visit the “42 Sweepstakes” tab on the Ball Park brand Facebook page and answer the multiple choice trivia question of the day for the chance to win the daily prize and be entered into the grand prize drawing. Ensuring fans are fully equipped for a grand slam season, daily prize packs include, a trip to the Baseball Hall of Fame™ in Cooperstown, NY, Sony PlayStation® gaming consoles, game day grilling kits, VIP Hometown Screenings of 42, grocery gift cards, and more.
On April 15, recognized nationally as Jackie Robinson Day, Ball Park brand will award one lucky fan with a trip for four to a professional U.S. regular season baseball game of choice, complete with four round trip airline tickets, hotel accommodations for three days and two nights and a $500 gift card for game day souvenirs and snacks. In addition, consumers who visit select Kroger and Safeway grocery stores this spring can receive a free 42 movie ticket valued at up to $13 with the purchase of select Ball Park brand products. The in-store programs will roll-out beginning in mid-March and extend through the beginning of April, as fans prepare to fire up the grill for the start of baseball season.
