Travellers from across the globe visiting Vancouver International Airport (YVR) now have another delicious, nutritious beverage option at their fingertips, 24/7, with The Smoothie Machine. A first for North American airports, five machines were recently installed in various locations throughout YVR. The robotics vending unit by Burnaby-based TrendiTech Inc. (Trendi) was created to help make healthy options more accessible. It automatically doles out blended smoothies made with rescued fruits and vegetables.
Carissa Campeotto, co-founder & CMO, TrendiTech, said, “Each smoothie exclusively uses misfit fruit and veggies, picked directly from a farm and rescued before they would be wasted. It’s incredible to have the opportunity to showcase The Smoothie Machine and our mission to fight food waste on a global scale.”
