Walmart has announced efforts to expand and modernize its stores. In the next five years, Walmart is planning to build or convert more than 150 stores, while simultaneously continuing its program to remodel existing stores. During the next 12 months, Walmart plans to remodel 650 stores across 47 states and Puerto Rico.
Its new and remodeled stores will reflect Walmart’s Store of the Future concept, featuring improved layouts, expanded product selections and innovative technology to help its associates better support its customers and make shopping more convenient. These new facilities will be designed with sustainability in mind. It is also developing a coast-to-coast network of electric vehicle fast-charging stations.
